McLaren looks to the future. There Woking stables has in fact formalized a new project, titled McLaren Driver Development, focusing on their young talent. The target? Trying to grow their youngsters before they land in the top flight where McLaren compete. McLaren believes so much in his nursery. To take part in the McLaren Driver Development project will be Pato O'Ward, Alex Palou and Ugo Ugochukwu.
McLaren Driver Development, Pirro director
The great news is mainly related to who will lead the Development project. Let's talk about Emmanuel Pirro. The former F1 driver from the 80s to the 90s, thus commented on this great result: “I am excited about this assignment for several reasons. McLaren has played a crucial role in my career by giving me the opportunity to gain a drive in F1 and take me to the next level working alongside Senna, Prost and Berger. Together with my team, my role will be to help create a cutting-edge program by selecting the best possible riders and providing them with all the tools they need to make the most of their talent. Furthermore, I will bring them into the team's mission, vision and values and hopefully one of them can progress to the F1 team."

I love working with young riders and helping them grow and improve. Every time I've done it in the past it's been an enriching experience and I can't wait to do it again.
