The tension, now with the holidays nearing the end, increases more and more. The Formula 1 teams are preparing for the 2023 season, and today to announce when the veils are unveiled their new car was McLaren.
The first indiscretion
The Woking team joked a lot about the car's presentation date, first publishing a post from their engineers at work in the company. From this photo though, the most attentive will have glimpsed a post-it attached to the computer with the following written: "Launch Deadline 13.02".
McLaren confirms: team launch on February 13th
An hour after the post, which aroused the curiosity of those who had noticed the preview, McLaren then wanted to make the official announcement via a tweet. The new McLaren will therefore be unveiled on Monday 13 February. Same date chosen by Aston Martin, which had already communicated this date a few weeks ago. For McLaren, the 2023 season will be very important: the goal will be to try to bring back the Woking team in fourth place in the constructors' championship, taken by force from Alpine in 2022. To do so, Zak Brown brought the young star with him Oscar Piastres which will be called to debut in the Circus starting from March 5th. Another big news at McLaren was Seidl's farewell, become CEO of Alfa Romeo(Hear). In his place, space for the Italian Andrea Stella called in this new challenge in the role of team principal.
Less and less missing
With McLaren, the framework for the presentations of the new single-seaters began to take shape more and more. The AlphaTauri will open the dance the 11 February, followed by Aston Martin and McLaren the 13. Valentine's day instead it will be Ferrari's turn. On the other hand, the 16th is the chosen day from the Alpine. Still missing are Haas, Williams, Alfa Romeo, the Mercedes and the champion team in the constructors, namely the Red Bull. Start warming up your engines as the return to the track is getting closer and closer.
