Felipe Massa it does not give up. The Brazilian driver raises his voice on the 2008 affair with a very clear idea: to conquer the world title.
What happened
Let's go in order for a moment to understand what is happening: it was the year 2008 and, during the Singapore Grand Prix, Felipe led the race with Hamilton behind him and was battling with Alonso to get back to the positions that matter. Suddenly the noise and the unexpected image: Piquet slammed, and he did it (as admitted after years) voluntarily. The safety car comes in, everything normal, then the crime. The Brazilian restarts from the stop with the refueling hose still attached to his F2008, leaving a trail of fuel along the pit lane. From the first position, it ends last. Hamilton with McLaren finished third. Vince Alonso, the teammate of Nelson Piquet's son in art. That race cost Massa the title, with Hamilton becoming world champion at the end of the season.
Ecclestone's statements
To ignite Massa's hopes in recent weeks, sWere Ecclestone's words, former big boss of Formula 1, who returned to dwell on the matter: “According to the statute, we should have canceled the Singapore race in those conditions. This would have meant that that GP would never have been in the official list of the series and that Felipe Massa would have become world champion, and not Lewis Hamilton“.

Massa speaks again: "Justice must be done"
With these words, Massa's idea is very clear: justice must be done. The Brazilian driver does not give up and, in an exclusive interview with Autosprint, he has declared: "I think justice must be done, for what happened in 2008 and for the outcome of the season. And especially for what Bernie said recently that everyone could hear. In other words, both he and Max Mosley knew very well the truth of the irregularities already in 2008. And this admission makes what happened and the final sports verdict completely unacceptable for Sport".
“What happened is not right”
"As a sporting result Massa continued. of the 2008 championship, I paid a lot for this and I think it was necessary to go and investigate all the situations that led to this, within the legal action I am preparing. What happened is not right for me and it is not right for Brazil either. A country that with one more world championship win could and could change a lot also for the drivers to come, and for the fate of motor racing in my nation. We know how much Brazil itself is in love with Formula One and how much Ayrton Senna has done for our nation and how many Brazilian drivers have entered Grand Prix after his success. And my results in 2008 were reaching a very important milestone, after many years in which Brazil did not win a world title. Also for this reason I think that what happened is not at all right ”.
“I don't care about money”
"What must be clear is that I am only interested in justice. I am not interested in any form of compensation or quantification of the damage. Money doesn't interest me. I just want justice to be restored and done. And in this I hope that the Italian fans side with me, because I think we are all in the same boat, in this fight that I intend to carry on".
