Bomb dropped. After the official arrival, starting from next season, of Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari, various debates have already begun on which pilot Mercedes will decide to aim to replace (and it won't be easy at all) the seven-time world champion. Among the various names bouncing around on social media, one quite particular appears. Let's talk about Max Verstappen. The world champion is a staple of Red Bull but Helmut Marko, through an exclusive interview given to 'Sport.de', he didn't rule that out Wolff will give it a try to try to convince Verstappen to embrace the Mercedes project, guaranteeing however that the outcome of the call will certainly not be positive.
Marko is very clear about Verstappen's future: "He won't go to Mercedes, but Wolff will try"
Therefore, speaking on the topic, Marko was very clear: “Toto Wolff will try, I'm sure. However, I can confirm that he will not be successful”. The Austrian director is certain that an attempt for Verstappen the team principal of Mercedes he certainly will, but the chances of a hypothetical transfer of the Dutchman to Mercedes are very close to zero. Furthermore, it remains to be understood whether in the end Wolff will really try to contact the three-time world champion or whether he will prefer to turn to other riders. THE various names are given: from Ocon (still linked to Mercedes), to a hypothetical (but again very difficult) Oscar Piastri, without forgetting the hypothesis that leads to Kimi Antonelli (called to debut in F2 starting from this season).

Other names in the background…
The news of Hamilton's move to Ferrari has undoubtedly shocked the paddock. Mercedes' advantage, at least at the moment, is that they still have a lot of time available to choose who will replace the seven-time world champion. In this regard, the option that leads to Carlos Sainz leaving his place to the seven-time world champion at the end of this (currently new) Formula 1 season still to be experienced cannot be ruled out.
