In his last interview as an F1 driver, Sebastian Vettel had stated that wanting to leave the Circus. The purpose of him was for being able to spend more time with his family and create moments that, given his 299 starts, weren't possible.
Marko: “Lauda role perfect for him”
His past speaks for itself: the years in the service of the family Red Bull they undoubtedly were the most flourishing his career. His 4 world titles and its stellar performance with what was once the Toro Rosso they show us. Helmut Marko, head of the youth program of the Milton Keynes team, has not hidden that he has searched several times di convince Seb to come back, but the German has always refused for his family reasons. Marko, however, does not want to give up: as reported to Sky Germany, the latter would have offered the 4-time world champion a role very similar to that of Niki Lauda over the years to Mercedes. This role would be, according to him, an excellent compromise because it wouldn't make him too busy and could therefore spend a lot of time with his loved ones.
These are his words: “Sebastian wants to have more time for his family. A role similar to that of Niki Lauda in Mercedes fits perfectly into his schedule”.
A possible return recalling those years
This call from Marko would serve to continue a cycle. However, he is quite advanced in age (80 years) and Vettel would be a worthy replacement also because it was Helmut who first called him to Toro Rosso and then saw him grow enormously up to Red Bull. The stage in which his rule began from 2010 al 2013 with those 4 titles in a row, a domain which, as confirmed by many of his rivals, seemed to be unbeatable.
