These are words that reveal a lot of confidence, those expressed by the pair of Ferrari drivers to the microphones of Sky Sport24 in the morning: “We aim for victory this weekend, yes”
Charles Leclerc e Carlos Sainz they didn't mince words, spreading the wings of the enthusiasm of the fans of the red in full force.
“A lot of adrenaline for this season and Ferrari will be more competitive than in recent years. This is one more reason to follow her. Thanks for the support you are giving us and with all the work done we hope that the best days will come soon. There is optimism, starting from this weekend” added Leclerc, talking about the new season and his F1-75, which seems to have convinced this pre-season.
The drivers also focused on the handling of the new 2022 single-seaters:
“The many blockages especially in turn 10? These cars are very different, the car is heavier and you feel it at the end of the braking. I've tried so many riding styles and maybe I've chosen one. Between temperatures and wind, however, everything changes. Furthermore cWith these cars the driver can make the difference especially at the beginning of the season if he adapts faster than others. Then the situation should level out” continued the Monegasque driver.
More cautious though Carlos Sainz, which has nonetheless revealed some concerns:
“The thing that scares us about our car? It's the wind seen in Sakhir: it was there in the tests and it's still there these days. But it's a problem that affects everyone, we thought that sensitivity to the wind was less with the new single-seaters. It doesn't scare you, but be careful."
Finally, the riders answered a question about what their relationship could be on the track in the event of a fight for the world championship: “What if the battle was between the two of us? Things change there because you know you're about to fight with a teammate and maybe you're about to pass him in the corner. You have to avoid messes. These are things you have to think about, but so far we have never had any problems between us and we will continue to be so.”
What can this tell us Ferrari, we will find out only in the next few days in Bahrain.
Meanwhile. at least from a spirit point of view, smiles and positivity seem to have returned to Maranello.
