In second position he concludes Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque of Ferrari, with the car in his hands, tried to exploit its full potential. Indeed, in the first laps, with the help of the slipstream of the car in front, he managed to keep the pace by Perez, but higher tire degradation forced him to handle, risking losing the position even on Verstappen.

Despite starting in front of everyone and finishing second, Charles looked pretty smiling; in fact, he recalled where they were with race pace up until the last few races and how they now fight for it victory of a grand prize: “We can't change the car for tomorrow, maybe you can work here and there on the flaps, but nothing more. This Sprint confirms what we thought: Red Bull still has an advantage in the race, but we must not forget how far behind we were two races ago. We have taken a step forward, we are not yet at the level we would like, but as I said if winning is not possible you have to try to bring home the maximum haul of points and I couldn't do more today, so I'm happy with second place. We'll still try to aim for the win tomorrow even if the Red Bulls seem faster.".
“I didn't know what to expect”
The next question was based on the strength shown by Red Bull, especially with the DRS, and if it was impossible to stay closer in the following laps: “I wasn't sure what to expect; I didn't fight too much with Checo because I wanted to try and preserve the tires knowing he's our weak point. Tried to stay in the DRS area of Checo so I could go for it in the straight. In the end, however, I lost too much ground to degradation. Let's see what will be possible tomorrow to bring home a good result.".
