The last attempt was missed, but qualifying was incredible. There Ferrari has also shown today that it is there and concludes in pole position with Carlos Sainz and in second place with Charles Leclerc.
Goal comeback
Great show of strength by Leclerc who, following the penalty, will be forced to start from twelfth position. Indeed, the Monegasque will have to serve a penalty of ten positions, but the strength shown today by the new power unit seems to be giving the number 16 a big boost. The last lap wasn't perfect, but the performance is there and it's undoubtedly encouraging for him and for the team.
Leclerc: “Race? I will do my best"
Tomorrow will be a comeback race for Charles who, at the end of the qualification, commented.
“With the wind the car changes a lot from lap to lap. I did my best, the last lap wasn't perfect. Carlos did a better job than me today, he deserves pole. I'll start further back because of the penalty, but the goal is to try to recover and get back to the front as soon as possible. Missing Mateschitz? It's very sad. But beyond all that he has done in his career, which is incredible, is the loss of a human being who is sad for motorsport. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. Competition? Tomorrow I'll do my best, I won't take any crazy risks but if there's a chance I'll be there to take it".
