The checkered flag waves on qualifications of the Abu Dhabi GP , Ferrari #16 driven by Charles Leclerc, after a spin to say the least magnifico, manages to position itself in second position. A Saturday began in difficulties for the Red, but the talent of the Ferrari driver is prevailed in Q3, bringing home a performance unexpected.
Leclerc's words after qualifying in Abu Dhabi
After getting out of the car, the Munich native immediately headed towards Jolyon Palmer, interview host. The former F1 driver focused on Leclerc's latest monstrous attempt, and even the Monegasque himself said he was incredulous of what he put together: “Honestly, for the weekend we had I didn't expect this result at all. I knew that on the last lap I had the obligation to put everything together, even if in the last corner the car was sliding a little too much. But I think this has happened to everyone a bit. But overall I'm very happy with this second place.".

The interview continued, and Charles talked about the problems with the car. In fact, it seems that compared to other cars, his is doing well more difficult with used tyre: “For some reason our car struggles a little more on used tires than the others. When we put on new tyres, however, everything came to life and the car looked very good. I'm very happy to be in the front row".
The fight with Mercedes and Sainz's distance
The last questions concerned the race, and in particular the challenge with Mercedes for second place in the constructors' category. Leclerc, already very focused on Sunday, also spoke about Sainz (released in Q1) as a possibility ally in case of a great comeback by the Spaniard: “The objective for tomorrow is to stay ahead of Mercedes to beat them in the constructors' championship. So I hope that Carlos can also get off to a good start so that he can give me a hand or even fight with me. We will therefore try to put both cars in front of them".
