It was a bit of a special day for the Ferrari. La Rossa managed to finish Friday in Singapore in the best possible way with first place by Sainz and second by Leclerc, sending everyone a very clear signal for this weekend.
Not very well in FP1, good in FP2
Despite this, the F1-75 didn't seem like a perfectly fit car, indeed, on the course of the first free practice session she seemed to be too nervous, especially with Sainz. The FP1 however, they are of great use to the Maranello team and in particular to Charles Leclerc who played a FP2 a little particular. In fact, the mechanics at Ferrari have worked on his setup allowing him to perform in the best way in the second part of the session.
Leclerc: "I believe in pole position"
Following this result, Leclerc thus intervened in view of tomorrow's qualifying.
“Our performance was good today even if unfortunately we weren't able to lap as much as we would have liked which, especially here, isn't ideal at all. We have to make sure we have a clean third free practice session to be able to work in the race configuration. Our qualifying pace, on the other hand, is good and I think we can aim for pole position.”
