The 2022 season had started in the sign of a long-awaited brace at home Ferrari. Under the starry sky of Bahrain Charles Leclerc e Carlos Sainz, in admiration for their F1-75, once the miracle happened, they showed off a big smile, sure they could finally have a say in the world championship after years of fasting and heads bowed as they watched the first ones in the battle class.
An opportunity seized upon by both riders, also placed on the same level by the Team Principal Mattia binotto who has never unbalanced on any hierarchy, not even when the score saw a Leclerc overtaking as world leader. Race after race, a bit like the horse's super engine, the reliability of the entire team began to waver in favor of one Red Bull almost perfect, which is in the guide of Verstappen – now close to receiving the second world title – in the enveloping shapes of the RB18 or in the killer strategies of the Austrian tram.
Singapore has a favorable track but be careful
If 2022 has confronted us with any evidence, it's that favoritism is easily questionable this season. In fact, Red Bull and Ferrari have exchanged predictions several times, and even in Singapore, despite being labeled a pro-ferrari track, one must never take for granted the capabilities of other cars that have proved to be as versatile as the almost perfect RB18, or like lately also the W13, which revived the Mercedes after a hard start. Even Leclerc would prefer to put the advantages aside at least not before having put the cars on track. Furthermore the team will have to demonstrate skill and reactivity in strategies given the high probability of Safety.
“I don't know yet if this track will bring us any advantages – said Charles to the microphones of Sky Sports F1. “Circuits like this should favor our self, even if the Red Bull however has a race pace advantage, so it will be difficult to challenge them, but we will see. Our main focus will be right on the race, also because we're quite strong in qualifying, and we were also after the summer break, but they're more competitive in the race, so we'll see what we can do this weekend".
Put the lessons of 2022 into practice
In recent months Ferrari has experimented, learned lessons which, if you remember, will be invaluable in managing the entire team in 2023. On the occasion of the first Asian appointment in Singapore, as well as the first that after the Jeddah Grand Prix will be raced at of the sun, Ferrari wants to go back to experiencing the sensations experienced under the sky of Bahrain, putting into practice everything they have learned so far, so as not to repeat the numerous mistakes. Furthermore in 2019 right here in Singapore he scored a double with Charles and Sebastian Vettel, winner of that GP.“We are still carrying on discussions with the team to be able to reach the best possible level" has continued Charles Leclerc.
“I don't want to dwell on the topics we are talking about, but I want to focus on these final six races and how we will manage these Sundays. It's very important to move forward, we've improved a lot from last year to this year in terms of performance, but it has to be took another step forward to be able to win the world championship and we will concentrate on these last few races to be able to lay the foundations”.
