After the week off and the Easter celebrations concluded, Formula One is ready to return with the Imola Grand Prix, at our house! Unmissable appointment, with the Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack which inaugurates the Formula One season in Europe.
Between redemptions and confirmations
Home track for Ferrari and more. In fact, Imola is also a special place for AlphaTauri, in search of redemption following a less than perfect start, also due to too many reliability problems. The same ones that forced the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen, to retire both in Bahrain and in Australia. For these reasons, Imola must also be the redemption race for the Dutchman and for Red Bull. But beware of Ferrari which is willing to take the gap with Leclerc and a Sainz, very fresh from renewal, well motivated, ready to cancel Australia.
The new “Sprint” variable
Let's not forget two variants: the rain and the new weekend structure. In fact, in Imola we will have the first Sprint of the year. The "short race" which will take place on Saturday afternoon, anticipating qualifying on Friday, is ready to make its debut this season. Let's not forget that the Sprint will establish the starting order for the Grand Prix which will start on Sunday and the top eight finishers will score points which could be important for the world championship.
The new order
As always, we start on Friday with the first free practice session. An hour of time for the teams to prepare for the qualifying scheduled for the afternoon which will establish the starting grid of the Sprint. However, the second free practice session will open on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday however, as always, there will be only one unmissable appointment: the Grand Prix scheduled at 15.00 pm.
It will be possible to follow everything on Sky Sport F1 and on TV8 live at the times proposed below.
