The pilots of F1, when they take to the track, they have one and only thought: push hard. To achieve this goal, there are many "barriers" to overcome. The first of all is certainly the deterioration. As it should be, the tires, stressed by the G forces that reaches such a car, they become worn out. More wear and tear entails loss of performance, quantifiable in tenths if not even seconds on a ride. A machine that is therefore able to best withstand these stresses is very advantaged, as it can extend the life of the tire to have a huge advantage on the other single-seaters.
The drivers don't want to manage, Isola talks about tire degradation with the teams
Another way to try to make the tire last longer is have a very sweet guide. Try not to force it, especially when you are engaged in a fight with other drivers, it becomes very complicated. Therefore, the drivers' desire would be to have one tire practically without degradation. This fight with Pirelli itself has been around for several years now, and the Italian company, after having renewed his contract with F1, it now seems to want reply.

Already in 2022, with the introduction of tyres 18 inches, the will of the sector led by was seen Mario isola, or that of having tires that are they degrade less. In an interview with Motorsport.com, the Italian confirmed this line, highlighting however how there could be implications for both positive and negative: “Without high tire degradation, there is no reason to target races with 2 stops to do. If degradation is reduced, I am convinced that the risk is having a train of cars because obviously, if you can push, you do it, and everyone can do the same. This is not something that can differ from rider to rider. Our goal is to understand how to change the action on the track and reduce degradation. It's something we can do. We just need to design a tire with different levels of degradation and we can consider that option for the future. But it is important to understand whether there may be unintended consequences.".
The date of possible introduction of this new type of tire was stated 2025, since the tires for next season have already been approved.
