It was all over in a flash. The investigation opened in recent days laid down by the FIA on the conflict of interest between Toto and Susie Wolff was, through a press release explaining the decision taken, officially archived. This was announced by the Federation itself, essentially denying what was stated on Tuesday evening. What seemed to be an open challenge, and above all just begun, ends with a clear step backwards by the FIA which - almost unquestionably - emerges as weakest force in the conflict.
Wolff investigation, the FIA decision: the case is closed
The announcement on the opening of the investigation against the Wolffs by the FIA on Tuesday, Wednesday the choice of teams to take the side of Formula 1, defending in particular the actions of Susie, CEO of the F1 Academy. Through a “Team Statement” the Circus teams said their dissent towards the decision of the Federation which, after just twenty-four hours on the clock, preferred to reverse course. The investigation, therefore, can be considered official closed.

The FIA itself announced this officially with an official statement: “Having reviewed and taken into account Formula One Management's Code of Conduct and Conflicts of Interest Policy and confirmed that they are in place undoubtedly adequate protection measures to mitigate any possible conflict, the FIA is convinced that the FOM management system is a sufficiently solid instrument to prevent any type of unauthorized disclosure of confidential information. The FIA, therefore, can confirm that there are no ongoing ethical, or even disciplinary, investigations involving any individual. As responsible from the point of view of sporting rules, the FIA has a duty to maintain integrity in the world of motorsport and this will always be his great objective".
