This time there is no escaping. I Formula 1 teams will no longer be able to hide the updates they will bring to their cars during a race weekend. This is the decision of the FIA which performed a small change in the regulation in view of the new 2023 season.
The rule, not respected, by the teams
Of the last year, Liberty Medium he had asked the stables to show at least one of their cars before the free practice session in order to allow journalists to be able to analyze all the changes introduced for that Grand Prix. These updates were subsequently reported in the classic FIA press release.

The change of the FIA
However, this decision was not well accepted by the teams. In order not to show their novelties ahead of schedule, the stables they mounted the new components only on the car they left inside the garage. Therefore, journalists hardly noticed new elements on the various single-seaters. For this reason, the FIA changed the regulation forcing the teams to show the media the new components on the car displayed in the pit lane.
The press release
A hard punch therefore by the Federation, which explained everything in the new regulation:
“If only one car has major aerodynamic components that have not been used in a previous competition or in the TCC that will be used in the competition, you need to expose that car to the media. Every registered power unit manufacturer must be available at one race during the season to give a media presentation lasting at least 30 minutes."
