Lewis Hamilton tried to take advantage of the opportunities given him by a daring race to get his first victory of the season, but nothing to do, the Englishman he had to settle for second place behind bogeyman Verstappen. A risky strategy and a sublime guide were not enough to curb the Red Bull by Max, but Lewis' podium gives the Mercedes box a lot, which receives a joy from moody W13.
Broken dreams and flashbacks
Lewis Hamilton was able to count on starting from a solid third position to attempt the coup in the United States Grand Prix. After the first corner, the Englishman found himself behind Verstappen after Sainz's exit, then trying to keep up with a Max in management mode. The situation had a turning point when Verstappen's pitstop went wrong, allowing the seven-time champion to see victory close. Unfortunately the 44 he lost the lead of the grand prix with six laps to go, and a guide to the limit mixed with the invocation of track limits for Verstappen weren't enough to give him the victory. The record of at least one win per season in Lewis' career seems increasingly unlikely, but anything is possible in Formula 1, and there are three races to go.
Hamilton looks ahead: "We will give everything in the last few races"
Two-faced Lewis today, saddened by the lack of victory, and happy with the progress made by the team: “Victory possible? First I want to thank the audience, it was really great. Thanks to my team. We came here with updates, we've narrowed the gap and we've come really close to success. I did what I could, but they they were too fast. Great strategy from us, great race from Red Bull and condolences to their team. I'm torn, The car was difficult to drive today. We worked a lot as a team and I had great hope when I was up front, however we will continue to push and give everything in the last three races. I'm sure things will work out in our favor."
