In view of the Grand Prix di Suzuka, Lewis Hamilton exposes his statements about Red Bull, its car and the Japan circuit.
Hamilton at Suzuka: here are his statements on Red Bull...
Lewis Hamilton's statements at Suzuka open like this:
For the weekend could you react to what Checo said? Do you think Red Bull will return this weekend? What do you think within the Mercedes team?
"Well, I have no idea, but I would like to believe that they are not 30 seconds ahead as they have been in the past. But, as Checo said, last weekend was certainly difficult for them. Even though their car should be phenomenal – they have been phenomenal all season! AND They've nailed pretty much every circuit perfectly and it's going to be great, of course, watch their adventure. Because here – on this circuit – it's beautiful to see the laps they do: the whole team and drivers are doing a fantastic job with the package they have. It will be interesting to see what the weekend looks like. I hope we will be closer… Like I said, I hope they don't have that 30 second lead that they've had in the past. "
…and on the feelings about the next Grand Prix
And regarding your car, there is a very strong argument that you were the fastest in Singapore last weekend. How will you be here?
"I don't know if this is really the case, because Carlos was managing up front; we were all relatively close. But it really was one great race to see everyone so close at the front. I believe that there can't be any performances this weekend that we had last race. But we can continue to try to push inside the package we have. And I hope we're not too far away this weekend."
Lewis Hamilton's statements at Suzuka end like this:
To conclude, you have often described this track as your favourite. Could you tell us about the expectations, the trepidation you feel before getting into a Formula 1 car here in Suzuka?
"Well, I don't remember saying it's my favorite, but definitely it is one of the favorite tracks for all drivers. Because even the fact that it's at 8, which traces the 8 in its configuration, is one historic track – pilots like Senna they wrote history here. And it's a fantastic track for a driver, in a beautiful country, fantastic food, beautiful hospitality and the track here is one of the most beautiful tracks on the calendar. I hope our car runs well too!"
