Lewis Hamilton will be a new driver from 2025 Ferrari. And there's no doubt about it. What makes the news, however, after the official arrival of the seven-time champion in Maranello, are rumors regarding Hamilton's desire to wanting to bring several engineers to Ferrari who shared his years at Mercedes with him: Bonnington (the famous “Bono” in his radio teams) e Shovlin (responsible for track operations for the Brackley team).
Ferrari, nothing to be done for Hamilton: he will not be able to bring Mercedes engineers in 2025
Roberto Chinchero on Motorsport.com Italia denied the various rumors that have circulated in the last few hours. Based on what is said, in fact, it seems that the contract that Hamilton signed with Mercedes last August (when his extension with Mercedes was announced during the Monza weekend), prevents to the British driver to be able to bring members of his now old team with him. For these reasons, no Mercedes engineer will be able to follow Hamilton to Ferrari next season.

The clause present in the contract
Although he was quite taken aback by the timing, this time Toto Wolff was certainly not caught unprepared. In Lewis' contract, in fact, there is the "non-poaching clause", which prohibits a driver who is ready to leave the team from doing so together with other team members. That Hamilton thought he wanted to bring Bono to Ferrari is no secret, but the "mission" of the #44 on the grid had to be interrupted immediately due to his current contract with Mercedes, which will expire in 2025.
However, now all attention must be paid about the 2024 season. Hamilton's move to Red will take place only and exclusively in 2025. There is still a year of Formula 1 to be experienced, in which Sir Lewis will drive his last Mercedes, as well as in Ferrari Sainz is preparing for his last year as a Red team driver before understanding the opportunities that a very limited market like that of F1 will be able to guarantee him.
