The words of the Haas team principal who does not foresee any news on the VF-22 in view of Barcelona
Formula One is preparing for the sixth stage of the world championship with the Grand Prix of Barcelona. Lots of news for the Montmelò race, especially in view of the updates that will bring various teams.
Goal to get up
Spain could be the perfect track for redemption by the Haas. The teaamerican eam, after an excellent start with Magnussen, he is back from the two GPs, Imola and Miami, in which perhaps he was expected something extra. However, the start of the season has undoubtedly disappointed a little Mick Schumacher. The German has not yet finished in the points this season and, in this respect, the comparison with his teammate it's not positive at all. There is work and improvement for Mick, also thinking about the future and the seat for the 2023.
Steiner: “We believe in the VF-22 project”
The performance in Miami was therefore not the best. But we have to work towards it road taken which, according to the princiapl Steiner team, is the right one. "It was a rather disappointing weekend in Miami - he confirmed- both in qualifying and in the race, but we have to be positive. If we can find the right set-up and get the tires working well, the car is good. As you could see during the Miami race, we made up positions until the Safety Car came out. This is what we need to focus on: remaining confident that we have a good car at our disposal and that we can get the points we want".

The (not) track advantage
Now, however, head to the next race, we fly to Spain. After three months of winter testing, Steiner denies however that having already been on the track can be a big plus.
"Coming to Spain and knowing that we've been there before, I wouldn't say it's an advantage compared to the other teams, because everyone has been there and knows Montmelò very well. In any case, knowing that we did well there and that we had a good set-up still makes us confident. Starting off on the right foot, we've usually put ourselves in a good position for qualifying and the race, so let's hope that happens again this time."
Nothing new
Sunday's race will be full of updates of the various stables. Haas too? Word to Steiner:
“Spain is the obvious place to make developments, and I think many teams are planning for them. I don't know how much difference they will make to each car and what they will bring. We have decided to wait a little longer with the updates, because I think that even without them we have performance that we need to achieve on the track: sometimes we succeed, sometimes we don't. We have a good package of updates lined up in four or five races, so I'm confident about that and what the others bring I'll know more next Monday."
