From this year, to give the reserve pilots and young talents of the stables the opportunity being able to drive an F1, the FIA has decided that, in at least two race weekends, the teams will be forced to entrust their car to the test drivers.
Fittipaldi will tour with Haas in Mexico and Abu Dhabi
All teams, except Ferrari who will do it to Austin, have already turned their talent around with the 2022 single-seater. Also Haas he put in the car Antonio Giovinazzi which, however, does not fall into the category selected by the Federation having already done 3 years in F1; the American team will therefore have the latter available 4 races to send on track Pietro fittipaldi and he will do it in Mexico and Abu Dhabi.
Haas, moreover, must hold himself very lucky why the drivers chosen by the FIA to do these tests during free practice they must not have done more than 2 races in F1, something that already happened to the Brazilian: it was him, after Grosjean's accident in Bahrain a replace him for the last two races of the World Cup. For the grandson of the former F1 driver and 2-times World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi it will not be the first time on the VF-22, given that the same had already climbed on the single-seater during the pre-season testing in Bahrain.
3 free practice sessions without official line-up
In addition to giving the car to the Brazilian in Mexico and Abu Dhabi the Haas, "forced" by Ferrari, will have to send on track Giovinazzi in Austin. Indeed, the Scuderia di Maranello want to keep active Antonio after the season spent in FE. The team founded by Gene Haas, therefore, will find itself in 3 out of 4 stages to have a different line-up from the official one during FP1. Who will be affected will probably Mick Schumacher who now has few opportunities to convince the team to reconfirm him for the 2023 season. The son of art, whose arrival in Formula 1 was long awaited in recent seasons could therefore leave the Circus well in advance.
