Alpine doesn't fit

“BWT Alpine F1 Team are disappointed to have received a post-race time penalty for car no. 14 in today's United States Grand Prix, which unfortunately means Fernando moves outside the points. The team acted correctly and deemed the car to be structurally safe following Fernando's crash with Lance Stroll on lap 22 of the race, with the right rear-view mirror detaching from the chassis following damage caused by Stroll."
"The FIA has the right to display a black and orange flag during the race if it deems a car unsafe and, on this occasion, assessed the car and decided not to flag. Furthermore, after the race, the FIA technical delegate considered the car to be legal. The team also believes that the protest, having been lodged 24 minutes after the deadline, should not have been accepted and therefore the penalty should be considered invalid. The team therefore contested the admissibility of the original Haas F1 Team complaint."
