71 laps of pure domination for Max Verstappen passing under the checkered flag from winner of the Mexican GP becoming the rider with the most victories during a season (14).
Matte red, Mercedes seems to have come back to life
In second position, behind an unbeatable Verstappen, there is Lewis Hamilton which, as e.g Austin, with the car that finds itself, get the best possible result trying to push with every lap. On the lowest step of the podium we find Sergio Perez, the darling of the house. The Red Bull double does not end due to a slow pit stop on the Mexican which, most likely, costs him second place. He finishes in fourth position, with the fastest lap on the last lap, George Russell. The Mercedes driver never has the pace of those in front and only gets close to Checo in the final stages, but that's not enough. Respectively in fifth and sixth position Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc: a Ferrari today dull red, without performance, as if the roles we had seen at the beginning of the year (the Maranello team fighting for victory and Mercedes in difficulty) have reversed.
GP Mexico, the emotions of the race? Always behind
In seventh position, on the rise, Daniel Ricciardo which he manages to carry out with the red rubber you overtake one after the other and, despite having a penalty of 10 seconds after a contact with Yuki tsunoda, manages to reach the points zone. Behind him Esteban Ocon who manages to complete the grand prix unlike his teammate Fernando Alonso who had to retire when he was in P7 due to a engine failure. To reach the last two positions in which points are earned there are Lando Norris e Valtteri Bottas. The excellent placement of the two McLaren and the withdrawal of Matador they still keep the fight for fourth place in the Constructors' Championship very open.
