According to the latest news, in fact, it seems that there is very little left to announce a new entry into the Formula 1 calendar: the Madrid GP.
Formula 1 in Madrid: very little left until the GP is announced
The Spanish capital, according to what the newspaper reported El Mundo, he prepares to announce its permanent entry into the calendar starting from 2026. In 2 years, therefore, the Madrid GP will finally be able to find space within Formula 1. It was much debated on this hypothesis, Barcelona GP which represented more than a few obstacles, but the work carried out between the parties appears to have led to a definitive agreement. Barring any surprises, in fact, the official announcement is expected within the next week.

Contract of approximately 10 years
There is still no clear information on how the circuit that will host the Madrid GP will develop. More information will be provided by early 2024, with the track subsequently approved by the FIA. However, one thing is certain: the project will be financed at 100% private, with the president of IFEMA, José Vicente de los Mozos which pushed hard to allow Madrid to host a Formula 1 GP which should remain on the calendar for around 10 years. Again according to IFEMA, the amount that will be spent to allow the event to take place will be around 500 million euros per season.
