Total bitterness it comes from the Ferrari box. The event that shook and changed the fate of this race, and perhaps of the world, is the error of Leclerc on lap seventeen. Verstappen had stopped, trying to exploit the undercut. That decision resulted Leclerc to the mistake. An accident which in a global key can also be decisive. What a Mercedes!
None of the riders who had reached three hundred races was managed to get on the podium. Well, Lewis Hamilton instead he succeeded. The seven-time world champion was very solid: he did nothing wrong and was incredible in managing the race. He has never managed to worry Verstappen, but he has never allowed those chasing him (for most of the race Perez) to be able to catch him. For Mercedes, also considering Russell's third place, was an incredible day.
New overtaking
To occupy the center group of the top ten, there are the two teams fighting for fourth place in the constructors, in which we report a new overtaking. The Alpine in fact, thanks to the sixth time of Alonso and to the eighth of Or with, takes the fourth position, surpassing the McLaren with Norris seventh e Ricciardo, last of the group, ninth.
At Aston Martin, on the other hand, they are confirmed as always a lot good in the race, but in qualifying they continue to struggle. Despite it all, Stroll finishes in tenth place, thus returning to the points zone, while Vettel conquers the eleventh place. Instead, Williams continues to shine Albon, always in the middle of the group, but outside the points zone. In fact, the Thai snatches the thirteenth position.
Big disappointment
To forget instead the race of both AlphaTauri, with tsunoda forced to retire and Gasly only twelfth. The updates on Friday had made us hope, while both in qualifying and today's race the team from Faenza failed to convince. We still have to work hard. Disaster also at Alfa Romeo with Bottas who finishes in penultimate position, while teammate Zhou was forced to retire. Last square, for the Haas di Schumacher. To close the GP, in addition to Leclerc, Zhou and Tsunoda, there are also the withdrawals of Magnussen and Latifi.
