GP Canada, the starting grid: how many penalties!

The starting grid of the Canadian Grand Prix it has changed several times. The penalties arriving during the evening - an Italian night - they significantly changed the initial line-up in view of the ninth round of the season.

Max doesn't stop

Penalty or not, Max is always in front of everyone Verstappen who collects yet another pole position of the season. Needless to say, once again, in addition to the car's extraordinary performance, the Dutchman showed why he is the man to beat. He will try, perhaps with a particular strategy and considering his excellent tire management, Aston Martin with Fernando Alonso. It won't be easy to keep up with Verstappen, but if there is one who can do it on this track, that's Alonso. The first penalized arrives

Fifth position instead for Nico Hulkenberg. The Haas driver is the first penalized on the grid. Qualified second, the German was punished with a three-place penalty for breaking the red flag regime. Sixth was the excellent Alpine Or with who, after having practically not done FP2, demonstrates all his potential for the umpteenth time. Just like the McLaren which continues to demonstrate that it is a car that runs very well in the rain. Norris will start seventh, with Piastri next to him in eighth position. They close the top ten Albon's Williams and Leclerc's Ferrari.

How many surprises outside the top ten

Eleventh position for another penalized player, namely Carlos Sainz. The pilot Classic Ferrari for sale – who qualified in eighth position – was punished by the Federation for an impediment against Pierre Gasly. Eleventh place for him and an uphill race, considering that he will have to defend himself from a hypothetical attack by Perez twelfth. The Mexican is still in great difficulty and can no longer find the right fit with his RB19. Thirteenth square instead for Haas Magnussen that he will have next to him Valtteri Bottas' Alfa Romeo.

At the bottom, others penalized

The news isn't over.  In fifteenth position is Gasly who, precisely following the impediment with Sainz, was unable to obtain an excellent result in qualifying. Lance Stroll was sixteenth, also penalized for an impediment (now the only certainty of yesterday's qualifying), on Esteban Ocon. Seventeenth Nyck De Vries which still confirms the difficulties of AlphaTauri, considering the Tsunoda's penultimate position – also penalized for impeding. In the middle of the two Alphas there is the Sargeant's Williams, with Zhou bringing up the rear.
