New Grand Prix and other news at home Ferrari. In view of the penultimate Grand Prix of the year, in Brazil, in fact, important news arrives on Carlos Sainz's F1-75.
Ferrari's decision
The protagonist of the story is therefore the number 55. The pilot of Ferrari, after receiving a penalty in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, prepares for new positions to serve. During the first free practice session, Ferrari has in fact confirmed that Carlos Sainz will replace the ICE of the power unit of the Spanish, the sixth of the season. This choice therefore forces the Spaniard to have to discount five penalty positions on the starting grid.
Sainz in penalty, what happens with the Sprint
However, considering the structure of the weekend in Brazil, the question arises spontaneously: when these positions will be discounted? According to the regulation, the penalty for a change of components of the power unit it will have to be served in Sunday's race. It will therefore be important for Sainz to make an excellent qualification (scheduled tonight at 20.00) and gain as many positions as possible in tomorrow's Sprint. In fact, based on his placement in the "mini race", the number 55 of the Ferrari will serve the five penalty positions, which will be decisive for his starting grid.
Goal ascent
The idea of changing some element of the engine had already been in the minds of the Ferrari engineers since Mexican GP, but Brazil seems to be the best track (also considering the Sprint) to lose as few points as possible, hoping to take second place in the constructors' championship. As also admitted by Sainz himself, the objective for the Maranello team will be to try to finish the year behind Verstappen's Red Bull, in order to then be able to aim for the title next season. Also for this reason, with a Mercedes that pushes and believes in overtaking at the last minute, it will be extremely important not to miss the Brazilian Grand Prix.
