These will be crucial weeks for the riders market. Indeed, many teams have the goal of composing their line up for 2023 and, between doubts and uncertainties, the lists are getting longer and longer.
Alpine still at work
The team is undoubtedly the most hard at work in the last few to look for a new rider for 2023 the Alpine. The French team is back from the burning situation linked to Oscar piastri, who signed with McLaren and, after losing also Alonso, is on the hunt for a replacement. The list to fill the seat left empty by the Spaniard is really very long, too if the prime suspect happens to be Pierre Gasly. It remains to be understood, however, whether the Frenchman will be able to free himself from Red Bull, with the AlphaTauri working on Herta to replace him.
The name of Giovinazzi appears
Meanwhile, in the last few hours, the French team has decided to have a test run, in Hungary, to the various riders who are on the list to become Esteban Ocon's future teammates. Among the participants are Schumacher, Herta, Doohan and Nyck DeVries. But the biggest news is the addition of a new driver to the list: Antonio Giovinazzi. The Italian driver is seen very well by the managers of the French team, considering the good market of Renault in Italy and the experience that the driver himself has gained in recent years, between Formula One and otherwise.
It's a Haas-Alpine duel
For Giovinazzi therefore, for now, a two-way duel between Alpine and Haas is expected. Also the American stable has in fact shown his interest in the former pilot of theAlfa Romeo, making him to drive the VF22 in FP1 at Monza. Obviously, Giovinazzi is not only the only name in the heads of the managers of both teams but the chances of seeing him in Formula One next year are getting closer and closer.
