FP2 of the Singapore Grand Prix ends and, therefore, the program of Friday of F1.
FP2: 1-2 Ferraris, but it's only Friday
The best time of the session was set by Carlos Sainz with her F1-75. From what we could guess the Spaniard managed to keep the tires in the first sector to use them in the other two. Factor that failed perfectly, for example, a Charles Leclerc which closes in second position, but with huge margins for improvement. The Monegasque has though lost most of FP2 due to the work done on his car. The reason? un total setup change.
Mercedes development
In third and fifth position we find the two Mercedes, respectively of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. The German team has proven to be able to compete for victory in this circuit that it suits a lot to the characteristics of the W13. Moreover, according to the words of the same Toto wolff this would be "The last beach” for Mercedes for to be able to win a grand prize.
Red Bull, between budget cap and problems to solve
He finishes his session only in fourth position Max Verstappen that seems not finding the right feeling with his car and, therefore, promises a hard night's work for the mechanics RedBull. But if the new world champion finds himself in trouble, a Sergio Perez serves a miracle this weekend that, despite the partner's difficulties, is always found one second away from him.
Only qualifying simulation and no reference on race pace
For what we have been able to witness, all the teams are there concentrate fully on the qualification which, in a layout like that of Singapore, can make the difference. However, some teams did a few laps in race pace simulation, but the data is still there too irrelevant to give a precise judgment on what they may be the strategies to be adopted in the competition.
