They just ended FP2 in Interlagos with the best time set by Esteban Ocon during the first lap of the simulation for the Sprint Race which will be at 20:30.
All close to the times, all conditions for a good Sprint
The race pace of all the top teams seems to be very close: the most on the ball it seemed Sergio Perez who did the second half "attack" and, together with Verstappen, Red Bull has seemed, as in some GPs up to now, the best in tire management. Behind, Mercedes e Ferrari they showed a very similar step between them with the red that seems degrade less compared to the Silver Arrows. In general though, all three stables are in approx 3 tenths. The only unknown is definitely the amount of fuel as we don't know at what moment they simulated the race or the sprint. It will be another complicated decision the choice of tyres (excluding the hard) because everyone has tried the Soft Drinks , Media and, at the moment, Yellow could be the right mix.
FP2, And the others?
Il poleman, Kevin Magnussen, and Haas in general have shown a good step and the Dane will surely try to keep first, at least until the DRS it will not be allowed. At the level of the American stable there is Pierre Gasly which will start in P12 and, with this speed, it surely will recover many positions. Quite ok too the Alpine but, after the innumerable excellent performance of the French team, there was to wait for it and, therefore, is no longer a surprise. It appeared turned off instead Lando Norris which will shoot from P4, although he didn't show anything impressive afterward Magic made yesterday in those conditions that allowed us to attend one of the best qualifying of the season. With these FP2s, all we have to do is make an appointment at 20.30 for the last one Sprint of the year!
