Debut in the wet for the ground effect single-seaters on the Silverstone track. The rain, at the start of the weekend, is certainly not the friend of the engineers, called to evaluate the updates made to the cars. All in all, a fairly calm session: the hybrid conditions between rain and dry weren't ideal for taking to the track. At the top of the timesheets is Bottas with theAlfa Romeo, but the track conditions gave us times that were anything but indicative.
Red Bull continues to churn out news
The Milton Keynes team brought a update far from expected. Adrian Newey dressed his RB18 in a new engine hood, which features a narrower rear area to direct the flows to the rear with greater precision. Verstappen is last with just two laps done, Perez is twelfth. Postpone performance evaluations of the single-seaters until later.
Ferrari: desire for redemption
Leclerc closes fourth behind teammate Carlos Sainz. The Scuderia arrives at Silverstone with theobligation to do well in order not to see reigning champion Max Verstappen escape. Also on the F1-75 has arrived a new engine hood.
Yesterday some were found problems with the petrol pump of Sainz's single-seater, this forced the mechanics to change the chassis by mounting one already used previously. Also on the Spaniard's F1-75 they have been changed MGU-K, MGU-H and turbo; only one new exhaust for highly motivated Charles Leclerc.

Mercedes: the weekend of the verdict?
Hamilton is second while Russell eleventh. Brakley's team contributed further changes to W13: new fund e new suspension are the most visible changes. The star's technicians will have to evaluate the effectiveness of the updates to brand the W13 or not as the wrong car, and possibly adopt concepts other than that of zero bellies in view of next season.
How many news!
It's not just the three top teams that are surprising for the news they bring. Williams (Albon 15th and Latifs 19th) revolutionized the bellies of his single-seater, adopting a mix of concepts from Red Bull and Ferrari. Also Alpine (Ocon 13th with Alonso behind) modified the bellies, presenting excavations that are very similar to those of the red.
Aston Martin continues with the development of the AMR22 which has caused much discussion due to its resemblance to Red Bull; Hag is tenth and Stroll eighth, the Canadian caused a Red flag at the end of the session going into the gravel at Copse corner. A Gasly fresh from renovation is positioned 17th, while tsunoda is ninth. Both Hass are in the top 10, with Schumacher fifth – German changed MGU-K, MGU-H and ICE – and Magnussen seventh. The riders of the American team close in sandwich Zhou with Alfa Romeo, which changed all the components of its PU. The Mclaren di Ricciardo e Norris are respectively in sixteenth and eighteenth position.
