In the FP1 of free practice it is the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc who immediately tries to dictate the pace. The Monegasque Red he finishes ahead of Verstappen (by only +0.091) and the other Red of Carlos Sainz.
FP1, between updates and penalties
The updates, related at the bottom, venturi channel and rear wing, seem to reward Ferrari for now. The Prancing Horse pit wall has clear ideas. In fact the Maranell stableor appears to be ready to communicate, tomorrow, la new power unit on Sainz's single-seater. In the first free practice session, the new control unit was mounted on the 55 single-seater, thus bringing Sainz to a penalty for Sunday(ten positions). The Spaniard, however, concludes in third place.
The decisive step
This weekend it is decisive for Mercedes. Updates brought laid down by the German stable they seem to be working for now, even though we are only in FP1. Russell wins the fourth position. However, it does not appear in the rankings Lewis Hamilton which gave way to De Vries. The Formula E world champion driver snatches the ninth position and is getting ready, for the second free practice session, to free up the place for the seven-times world champion. So for now Russell replies present, all that remains is to understand if even in FP2 the Mercedes will confirm.
Restart objective
Not a bad start McLaren. The Woking stables, together at AlphaTauri, is the team that led a long series of updates for the weekend in Le Castellet. There are many reasons, especially for the standings. In fact, McLaren risks losing the fourth position against Alpine and for this hopefully the updates will work. Norris concludes in seventh position, while Ricciardo closes the top ten. In home Alpha Tauri instead the landlord, Pierre, flies gasly, fifth while tsunoda he is not yet in trouble with the seventeenth position.
Soon back on track
However, the performance has yet to be verified of the Alpine in thirteenth position with Or with, also landlord, and fifteenth with Fernando Alonso. There will therefore still be work to do, too if teams don't have a lot of time. In fact, this is how the free practice FP1 ends, but watch out that at 17.00 will get back on track with the second session.
