The second session of Formula E Free Practice on the Monte-Carlo circuit in Monaco ended with the best time of the Maserati MSG Racing driver, the German Maximilian Günther. Günther had finished the first session in third position, confirming himself also in the second session, tighter but without any particular hitches.
The session
With an outside temperature of 20°C, and a circuit temperature of 21°C, FP2 begins in Monte-Carlo. The beginning is rather linear, the first to record a good time is the fastest of the last practice session, Mitch Evans who ends the lap in 1:31.238 followed by Edward Mortara to +0.039. The New Zealander driver improves to 1:30.784.
The first to drop below one minute and 30, after about half an hour from the start of the session, is Fenestraz, with a time of 1:29.788. Fenestraz's time is improved by 0.109 by Buemi. The Nissan driver will then finish in eighth position, ahead of Jean-Éric Vergne and Dan Ticktum who complete the top 10.
The first position is played on the thousandth. At 09:36, Maximilian sets the pace Günther lapping in 1:29.488 but Dennis snatched the first provisional position from him by just 0.075 thousandths.
Checkered flag for this second free practice session. He finishes in first position, Günther of the Maserati MSG RACING team, with a time of 1: 29.269. The German improved the reference of FP1 but also the time of the pole position of the last edition of the E-Prix. Günther's teammate, Edoardo Mortara finished in twelfth position, second Evans at +0.007. He closes the top three Dennis at +0.144. Vandoorne only fifth, preceded by an excellent Sergio Sette Camara with the NIO 333.
