The rumor has been launched. There Formula 1 is evaluating the possibility of having 30 races per season on the calendar, with the concrete idea of being able to also hold GPs during the week. The news was reported by Pedro Fermin Flores. According to what has been said, it seems that the proposal from Liberty Medium – which sees undoubtedly greater revenues for Formula 1 in the increase in races – will be discussed in the next Concorde Agreement.
Formula 1 isn't joking: idea of 30 races a year plus a midweek round
The hypothesis, however exaggerated it may seem, does not seem to be that far from reality. Ultimately, in fact, Sundays he has repeatedly reiterated his desire to want increase the number of Grand Prix. This idea would only be achievable with agreement in the new Concorde Agreement. The one currently in force, in fact, prohibits to be able to exceed 25 races per season. Domenicali's proposal is undoubtedly linked to the numerous offers from the various countries hoping to host a Grand Prix.

Finding space, however, given the various (and above all long) renewals, is not at all easy. Precisely for this reason, increase the number of races – which already this year there will be 24 (30 actually counting Sprints) – could eventually be there winning move to please everyone.
And the pilots?
Different story, however, for i team e pilots. Their desire to not increase the number of races has never been hidden. According to many, in fact, a Formula 1 season it should only consist of 19 or a maximum of 20 races. Numbers that at the moment seem to be very far from the plans that Liberty Media has in mind. The problem relating to the possibility of carrying out a project needs to be monitored even more midweek shift, which would lead pilots to a completely minimal energy and rest management. A fact that those responsible for safety (in this case the FIA) cannot leave unnoticed.
