The news about Andretti-Cadillac, partnership formed for become part of the F1 Circus, had taken all the factory teams by surprise, who had shown theirs to the FIA disapproval to the possible arrival of a new builder.
Smallest “slice of the pie”: nobody fits
Annually, Liberty Medium, or the organization that owns F1, on the basis of revenues, divides a percentage of the latter to the 10 teams. All based on their position in the standings. A new participant would mean divide this "cake" in several slices and, therefore, less income of the normal ones. However, the introduction of another title contender would bring new people into F1. More people, more revenue. That famous cake, consequently, would increase. With the increase in the budget to be divided and which, with an extra "guest", would leave the amount of money arriving in the team's coffers practically the initial one.
FIA – Liberty Media, the fight continues
After the case Saudi Arabia and PIF Fund, willing to buy the F1 had begun to create one split between the Federation itself and Liberty Media itself. All because of Mohammed Ben Sulayemspoke on the matter. Tempers seemed to have calmed down, but a new spark has struck.
The International Federation has always been favorable to the arrival of new builders, as opposed to the American society that it was allied with the stables to block the access of new companies. The Paris-based group was therefore asked to establish a regulation to confirm this blockade. In part it was done, but on the other hand it didn't quite go like this. The deletion of those rules did not happen. Rather, these have only been tighten up.
From now on, in fact, the FIA will evaluate the potential of the new teams on the basis of “strict financial and technical analysis” e “on sustainability criteria and positive social impact”. Therefore, it will not be enough to demonstrate that you have adequate technical skills, nor to guarantee sufficient economic resources, nor to ensure the necessary experience in Motorsport. In fact, the candidate teams will also have to be in line with the sustainability plans that will lead F1 to be carbon neutral from 2030.

This sent the owner of the F1 brand into a rage. I sign that it is clash between these two giants of the global financial market it is not finished yet.
Motorists 2026: finally they are official
Returning to the engine issue, this time by mutual agreement between the two entities, they were officially introduced the motorists which will supply the Power Units to the teams starting from 2026. No surprise to see Mercedes, Ferrari e Renault, now classics of this sport. Beyond these three, we will also see the return of Honda, out of F1 despite always being linked to Red Bull until 2025, when it will join a Ford as announced during the presentation of the RB19. The American brand will return to the Circus many years after its farewell and, given its origins, Liberty Media itself should be very pleased to have it back in this circle. The latest is Audi, which bought a minority of the group Sauber.
