A gesture made with the aim of protecting the Formula One, but which has further exacerbated relations between the Federation and Liberty Media. Indeed, the American company has responded pointing out to the multiple WRC champion that decisions must be made by mutual agreement between the two entities. The story then took an even more serious turn with the affair Andretti-Cadillac.
Letter of resignation to the teams and FIA press release
The amount of these events would have led the president to a drastic decision. According to the well-known online newspaper Daily Mail, the president of the FIA himself would in fact have sent a letter to each team in which he announced his resignation. A news confirmed in particular by the last F1 Commission held in London, in which Ben Sulayem was not present together with Stefano Domenicali. Another important event, which further confirms the news, concerns the absence of the FIA president during the three days of tests in Bahrain.

The name of the substitute
Such an important place within the Circus organization is definitely coveted by all. However, Ben Sulayem's replacement has already been chosen by the latter: in fact, in the alleged letter, the Arab has already decided who will take care of the “F1 matters”, or Nicholas Tombazis, a well-known figure in the paddock given his experiences as an engineer since the 90s and his last years at the service of the Mercedes. Tombazis himself took part in the F1 Commission on Tuesday afternoon.
