Also this weekend the main protagonist is the FIA. Eyes are still on Federation and on the choices that cause discussion.
The rules
Let's go in order: due to rain, the FIA had to postpone the start of Japanese Grand Prix. At the restart, the race lasted about 47 minutes. The regulation states that if you do not exceed a certain percentage of laps, from 75% onwards, full marks cannot be awarded.
Full marks, that's why
At the end of the race, won by Max Verstappen, the communication arrived that the FIA awarded full points and, through the five-second penalty given to Leclerc, Verstappen became world champion. The question therefore arises spontaneously: but why were full scores assigned? The Federation, according to an official note, he admitted that he applied point number 6.5 of the sporting regulations. According to this part of the regulation, fewer points will be awarded only when the race is completely suspended and not resumed.
Too many doubts about the FIA
In fact, the race in Japan, after an initial interruption, resumed almost two hours after the interruption due to rain. Once again doubts arise about the decisions of the FIA which, week after week, undoubtedly continues to demonstrate very little clarity.
