La FIA he thinks about it, once again. Following the right of review presented by Haas last week relating to the finishing order of the US GP, the Federation begins to evaluate with great seriousness a possible change on a rule that, during this season, has been used more than once.
Review right: four teams have already applied it in 2023
Only in 2023, in fact, well four teams have benefited from the right of revision. Let's talk about Aston Martin, Ferrari, McLaren and, as well as the most recent, Haas. This last analysis, following the video conference held between the team and the FIA men, was not accepted, as the evidence brought by Haas did not prove adequate to reopen the case.
The new rule
The timing with which Haas presented its request to the FIA suggests a possible change to the rule relating to the right to review. About 14 days - till today the maximum time to be able to appeal – after the GP held in Austin. If Haas had been right, the finishing order of the Grand Prix it would change about two weeks after it took place. A gap that the FIA considers really too wide.

Precisely for this reason, as reported by Motorsport.com, it seems that the Federation is ready to take action again. Based on what filters through, it seems that the maximum time the teams will have to be able to appeal the right of revision will be 96 hours from the end of the race. An even tax will also be introduced 6.000 to EUR, which each F1 team will have to spend in order to apply. Only if the team emerges victorious, will receive the refund.
FIA, little is left for the new rule on the right to audit
There is still no official information, but the FIA's plans seem to be clear: it will change on a rule which will hardly allow the teams to distort what the track will say and which only the checkered flag will be able to officially sanction.
