Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur's plan to rebuild the team after the Binotto era is progressing well. Although the Red team finds itself in a complicated situation on the track, having gone from second to fourth force with a more complex SF-23 than thought at the beginning of the year, the most interesting movements are happening behind the scenes. Ferrari needs a point of reference on a technical level. He needs a complete revolution at the organizational level in that sector which is the driving force of the entire team. The names that have been linked to the Rossa in recent months are different and all of the highest level. However, some rumors were promptly denied.
Vasseur strikes: hired a top technician
After the positive results in Canada and, a week before the Austrian Grand Prix, where Ferrari achieved its latest success last year, Vasseur said he had hired a prominent figure, a name that would “made a noise". However, this figure will not be operational immediately but will begin his journey with Ferrari in 2025.
“Changing direction in F1 is not quick and easy, if you want to hire someone you need years – Vasseur's words reported in the Spanish newspaper AS. A few weeks ago I hired a 'top' who will enter in 2025 to work on the 2025 and 2026 cars. If we didn't move now that we are in 2023, the benefit of these new resources would be postponed even further in terms of operations".

This may seem like a very long period of time and one of the crucial aspects is linked above all to the permanence of the pilots. Charles Leclerc e Carlos Sainz they will end their contract in 2024, barring imminent renewals. But Ferrari must also think about the future and lay the foundations now for the years to come. Years that will be full of changes given that from 2026 there will be a new technical cycle. This also doesn't hinder the plan to save this season and next. In fact, others are already ready on that level updates.
There is still some mystery about the name
The name of the new hire is not yet known. However, the fact that the newcomer will not be able to operate until 2025 suggests that the mystery man or woman is currently at another F1 team and that they will have to respect a period of gardening that is, a "pause" that varies from 6 to 9 up to 12 months - before moving to another team, in order to protect the secrets of the team he leaves.
