Ferrari bids farewell to Mexico not fully respecting the expectations of the day before. It's clear that if you start with both riders in front, the aim is to try to reach the podium with both of them. It wasn't like that. The SF-23 did not experience problems of enormous degradation, even if on restart - as there was a red flag for Magnussen's accident - Leclerc, who finished in third place, never really convinced with his race pace. However, the performance was good in all aspects Sainz, room and above all ahead of Russell's Mercedes, seventh. A performance, the breakthrough of the two Redheadswhich was analyzed by the Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur, spoke exclusively to Sky Sport F1.
Ferrari, Vasseur analyzes the Mexican GP: "It's not a totally negative result"
Are you happy with your departure?
“No, but it's not a question of management. We didn't start well: we gave everyone the slip and completely lost control of the situation. If you start badly, you lose from others and that's what happened. All this put both Carlos and Charles who had contact with Perez in difficulty. The problem was the start itself, then the slipstream made things worse."
Satisfied with the result?
“It's not a good result if we look at the starting grid. The weekend itself wasn't negative: Leclerc's first stint wasn't bad, while with the Hard tires at the restart we struggled compared to the others."

How do you explain this final debacle for Leclerc?
“It's a question of tires. I think the balance wasn't ideal with the mediums, even though the medium tire was the best for our car. We then started again with the Hards and it was very difficult as we lost the pace. We were surprised though that Hamilton managed to do so many laps on the mediums."
Was using the average an option?
“We didn't have a new one, just a used one. And it was a little bit on the edge for us.”
What feelings do you have about Brazil?
“I prefer to digest this first, but I can already say that we will try again. We will try to do everything we can in qualifying with the aim of improving in the race. Obviously we're not satisfied, but we brought home a podium and a fourth place, so we're not talking about a dramatic result."
