If Las Vegas was listed as “the race” to be monitored with particular attention at home Ferrari, there was a very clear reason. And today we saw it. Ferrari concludes the Las Vegas GP al second place with Charles Leclerc, author of an incredible performance (closed with a late overtaking on Perez), and Sainz's sixth position, author of a good weekend due to the rivalry. With these results, combined with seventh and eighth place for Mercedes, Ferrari moves to -4 points by the Brackley team for second place in the constructors' championship. Performances, those of the Las Vegas GP, were very positive analyzed by the Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur, spoke exclusively to the microphones of sky sports f1.
Vasseur after the Las Vegas GP: “We were penalized by the safety”
Vasseur, how was Leclerc's race?
“He had an exceptional race: I think has overtaken Red Bull three times. We finished in second place even though we wanted first, but despite everything I believe that we had an incredible performance. We didn't have much luck on safety but now we have to focus on the next race. We are only 4 points behind Mercedes and we must take advantage of it".
Was it the best Ferrari of the season? More than that of Singapore?
“In Singapore it was a great race but you have to think that Red Bull was far away, whereas today we fought with them. Carlos also drove an incredible race, especially if he thought he would start eighteenth following the contact. Our great misfortune was the safety".

How do you evaluate this race from all aspects?
“When you're at the wall it's always a little different to see and evaluate everything. I believe though that it was exceptional, both the event and the race itself. There were many overtakings and the leader changed three-four times. I think it was one of the best races of the season".
Is Verstappen and Red Bull, even more so after today, a truly unbeatable duo?
"Do not. Today we didn't come far from beating them. They dominated throughout the season, but here in Las Vegas we were pretty close.”
