And now we can say it loud: the countdown has started. There are exactly seven days left before the presentation of the new Ferrari. In fact, La Rossa is ready to reveal to all the people of Formula 1 the car (true) which will be the protagonist for the 2023 season.
Ferrari, the SF-23 is born
Waiting to understand what peculiarities it will present from a technical point of view, but also from a livery point of view, another fundamental element was announced today of 14 February, i.e. the name of the single-seater. Through its social channels, Ferrari has confirmed the rumors released in recent days: the 2023 car will be called SF-23. So the acronym returns "SF", which naturally stands for Scuderia Ferrari, after last year's F1-75, unique in the “23” which of course represents the competitive season ready to begin.
The press release
To announce and explain the choice of this name is Ferrari itself through a statement.
"The 2023 Scuderia Ferrari single-seater, which will be unveiled in exactly seven days in Maranello, has a name: it will be called SF-23.
The team therefore returns to the denomination that characterized almost the entire hybrid era of Formula 1. The acronym SF – which stands for Scuderia Ferrari – made its debut on the 15 SF2015-T and was only abandoned last year, with the F1-75. The figure obviously indicates the competitive season that the car will face.
It is the eighth single-seater to have the acronym SF in its name, followed by the racing year for the fourth time. The years since the foundation of the company were celebrated on two occasions (with the SF70H, SF71H of 2017 and 2018), on one occasion those of the creation of the Scuderia (with the SF90 of 2019) and on one occasion, in 2020, the milestone of a thousand Grands Prix run (SF1000)".
Everything is ready
After il fire up from last week, now we just have to wait another couple of days to discover all together one red, which in addition to being beautiful, also hopes to be fast… but really a lot.
