This year the Scuderia Ferrari has decided to present its new single-seater for the 2023 championship on Valentine's Day, the day of lovers. As reported yesterday by our Gianni Nardone, for every Ferrari fan, the presentation of a new single-seater is a moment of pure sweetness, of desire, of waiting for something wonderful. And 2023 is no exception in this, with expectations linked to the new team principal, Frederic Vasseur, and also a desire and need for revenge. The new one is based on this SF-23, the Maranello team's single-seater that will launch itself in pursuit of Red Bull for the top of the world championship. Let's take a closer look at the car.
Livery: lots of red, little carbon and written on the wing

In the presentation, we were able to appreciate a line of continuity as far as the coloring is concerned: after the experience of the F1-75, the SF-23 maintains its gloss even though it uses a slightly darker shade. Other teams, as seen up to now, have preferred to integrate the carbon black, to the detriment of the color throughout the car. Even Ferrari is not exempt from this choice, with a lot of black on the rear, a blade on the sides and the side of the nose. However, the Rossa maintains a wider colouration, thanks to the change in the type of finish.
Last but not least, the detail of the Ferrari lettering in white on the rear wing. The Tifosi had clamored for the detail introduced in the home race to be maintained for the 2022th year, and the Ferrari designers responded to the request, replacing the Modena yellow with white more in line with the car. The tricolor is always present, on the bonnet just ahead of the large identification number of the pilots. The livery therefore maintains much of the XNUMX season, while introducing new black details.
Technical side: SF-23 based on 2022, but with important innovations

The soft lights didn't help to capture particular details of the new single-seater, but it can be seen with extreme tranquility that the philosophy for the new car is basically the same as that of the F1-75. The bellies are still hollowed out like those of last year, and have slits for cooling the Ferrari engine. The car appears to be slimmer than in 2022, but that may be due to the increased black color on the car compared to last year.
During the presentation, the SF-23 took to the track at Fiorano, first with Charles Leclerc, and then with Carlos Sainz. In this way we had the opportunity to evaluate further details, starting from the roar of the engine, which seems slightly duller. The fund does not seem to differ much from the F1-75, at least in the car that took to the track, but obviously we are waiting to see the tests in Bahrain to formalize the new choices of the Maranello company. In the renderings, in fact, the bottom seems to be much more elaborate and detailed, especially in the front part.
What can I say, except that expectations are very high. There is an air of optimism at Ferrari, and we'll see if this new SF-23 is up to the great task that awaits it: aiming to bring the Prancing Horse back in front of everyone.
