The voice out of the chorus. Charles Leclerc has its say on the Sprint format by responding, indirectly, to the various attacks that the weekend characterized by the mini-race on Saturday suffered from Max Verstappen. The Dutchman, in fact, has admitted several times to don't particularly like the Sprint format, considering it not very useful for Formula 1. Leclerc, who also spoke about it, had a different idea a possible change linked to Sprint ahead of next season.
Leclerc promotes the Sprint format: “I like it”
In the month of October which has just ended, out of four Grands Prix contested, for well it was witnessed twice format Sprint. A very eventful weekend, in which there was no shortage of surprises (just think of the disqualification of Leclerc and Hamilton in Austin). Despite this, it is precisely this adrenaline that fuels Charles Leclerc who assessed the format positively: "I like. I like the fact that we only have one practice session, although I think we shouldn't have more than six Sprints over the course of the season".

“No more than six a year”
This year the Sprints are over from three to six. An important number which, according to the Ferrari driver, it is not to be changed"I think you are is the right number: I really like the fact that after the first free practice session we go straight to qualifying".
Leclerc: “From next year we could have a change in programming”
The number will not change, but the programming may receive instead some small transformations. Leclerc himself admits this, explaining how the Sprint weekends could change starting from 2024: "So – continued Leclerc – that there are several dialogues between Formula 1 and the teams on a possible change to the format for next year. New programming should see the Sprint Shootout will move to Friday afternoon, with the Sprint to Saturday morning before qualifying which will take place on Saturday afternoon. I believe, therefore, that Saturday can change and improve, although to tell the truth I also like Fridays a lot: not having three free practice sessions which are sometimes really long and can also be a little boring".
