The 2022 season isn't over yet, but Charles Leclerc already have in mind the target for 2023. The Monegasque, who celebrated in the recent Mexican Grand Prix 100 appearances in Formula 1, has returned from a season that was certainly better than the past but which leaves a bad taste in his mouth.
A championship faded too soon
In a fresh interview by Roberto Chinchero (Motorsport.com), Leclerc opened up on various topics, talking about his past career, present challenges and future goals. 9nd pole position e 10 podiums (Including 3 victories) make 2022 a respectable season, even if the regret remains for a title vanished far too soon.

“After Melbourne I was convinced that we would be able to play until the end – says the number 16 of Ferrari – ma after Spa I thought it would be very difficult keep our chances intact in terms of the World".
Hurry to win
In any case, Charles turned 25 a few weeks ago, so he has plenty of time ahead of him to make his dream come true: to be World Champion with the Reds. The contract signed at the end of 2019 will expire in 2024, he has no intention of leaving and the president Elkann has given until 2026 to hit the target.

Leclerc, however, does not have the slightest desire to wait another three seasons and has set himself the target to get to the end 2023 with a World in his palmares. “I have always loved Ferrari, I want to win a world title with this team, and I want to do it as soon as possible".
“I know that the President has said that it is a goal to be achieved by 2026, but as a driver I cannot think about this deadline. I am very impatient, I will prepare and I will do everything possible to be world champion in 2023".
