Not really the Sunday waiting for us at home Ferrari. Zandvoort, Max Verstappen triumphs again, finishing ahead of George Russell and Charles Leclerc. The red returns to the podium, but there are so many things to analyze…
Not another day
A third and an eighth place that really say a lot. At the Ferrari house once again the feeling with the F1-75 was missing. Leclerc, once having mounted the hard ones, it was no longer able to run as it had initially done. Even more different instead what happened to Sainz, with the initial pit error, which is really unforgivable.

The problem starts with D
After what we saw in Belgium, it was evident that something (even at the hierarchical level) had changed. However, it was right to wait for Zandvoort to have an even clearer idea of the situation. The difficulties at Ferrari arose in particular with the arrival of directive DT39. That the rules on porposing may have compromised what were the balances on F1-75? To date, Maranello has received denials about it, but there seems to be no other explanation.

Leclerc: "Obviously he wants to win..."
At the end of the race, they are clearly not lacking the words of Charles Leclerc.
“On the softs I think the stint was good. Max was on new tires so we expected him to go a little faster, but the pace was good on the softs. Instead afterwards, on average, we suffered a bit. Mercedes was the real surprise today on the hard compound: they went very fast, aiming for just one stop. On average we lost a bit of pace and had bad luck with a VSC called at the wrong time. With a normal race, I think second place would have been possible and in the end third place is fine”.

Sainz: "I don't know if the car was damaged"
Together with Leclerc, it has arrived the analysis of teammate Carlos Sainz.
“I don't know if the car was damaged due to the contact with Hamilton at the start, we have to look because I didn't have pace, I overheated the tires too much. We were too slow, at the beginning and at the end. On a track like this, I expected a different pace. We are not happy with the behavior with the Soft tyre, we are not going fast with this tyre. Mercedes and Red Bull have more pace than us. We had a couple of crashes which didn't help, penalizing the team. There was no unsafe release, I had to brake to avoid a McLaren mechanic in front of me. A new engine is being planned, with penalties. We'll see if in Monza or not. I'm a bit overweight and it helps for the pace against Max and also against Charles”.
All in Italy
However, there is no time to pull the plug a bit as the most important weekend of the season is coming up for Ferrari: thethe home Grand Prix in Monza, in which, instead of the orange tide, there will be a red sea.
