Never like this season, to win you will have to do the math really well. The situation budget cap in fact, it continues to be well present on the Formula One teams, which do not hide the risk of exceed $140 million.
There are those who say no
Precisely for this reason, and in particular because of the inflation phenomenon, in the paddock the topic related to the budget cap is one of the most discussed at the moment. During the Formula One Commission meeting during the Grand Prix of Barcelona, the request has emerged of the top teams(Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes) to increase by approx 10 million the maximum expenditure ceiling imposed by the budget cap. However, to allow this request to go through, eight out of ten teams need to accept the proposal.
For now, alone six teams accepted the proposal. Contrary in fact they are the Alpine, Williams and the two Ferrari-powered Haas and Alfa Romeo.

Teams against: Haas in the front row
It will therefore not be easy at all to try to find an agreement. Indeed, it must be considered that the four teams contracted, at least according to the statements of their team principals, are not willing to change. Among the main voice bearers of the “No“, there is undoubtedly the Haas team principal Steiner, which he claimed.
“The eyes must not be only on this world championship, but on the future. We're trying to figure out what to do with the budget cap and the inflation problem. Let's hope that the situation returns to normal levels, but if we react by raising the ceiling in a few years we'll be back spending 250 million. For the good of sport, we must resist and ensure everyone's competitiveness.".

Ferrari, Binotto: "The budget cap is limiting us"
Among the promoters instead of the idea there is no doubt Mattia binotto. The team principal of Ferrari asks in fact, even strongly, an increase in the budget cap.
“The limit imposed by the budget cap is deciding what we can do. We cannot waste resources Binotto said. so I believe we will bring updates when we have a significant one. In Monaco we only brought a new front suspension to play with the steering angle, and then there's Baku, a street circuit, so I think new developments will come for the British Grand Prix”.
