And day 1 is also over. To master is still there Red Bull, That of Max Verstappen who snatches the best performance in front of Fernando Alonso and the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz. Initial indications, which however are still too few to be able to understand how true they can be considered.
Max is there, waiting to understand Ferrari
It's still very early, that's obvious, but it's also right that we already start working to prevent some problems from arising next week. This is undoubtedly the case with Ferrari, returning from a rather particular first day. Yesterday morning, in which Carlos Sainz turned, the SF-23 did not demonstrate any kind of problem. During the afternoon however, the situation changed a bit. It was not easy for Leclerc to deal with first of all a car that suffered a lot from jumping, proving to be particularly nervous.
Sainz: "Day 1 positive"
Despite this, calm seems to be the leading word to describe the two pilots, especially Sainz who described his day 1 like this.
"Overall, I'd say it was a positive opening day. Reliability was good and we were able to run smoothly, completing the work schedule and collecting a lot of valuable data. We made some progress with the set-up over the course of the morning and were also able to conduct some good testing with the tires we had already tested in Abu Dhabi. The goal is to continue like this tomorrow too”.
Leclerc: "We have to analyze"
Instead, Leclerc's analysis is different, who prefers to remain more analytical and evaluate the data collected on the track with the team.
"The first intense test session is behind us. We completed 64 laps trying a bit of everything. We worked on the set-up, to which we associated some tire evaluation tests and aerodynamic tests with different fuel levels. We will analyze all the data collected to be ready for tomorrow".

Ferrari prepares a new fund
During the afternoon in the Ferrari garage we tried and worked hard. The wing on Leclerc's car was changed following a problem related to the DRS and an important work was carried out on the bottom. Just the latter will be the new element that Ferrari will mount during these last two days of testing. From Maranello they want to evaluate any position, thus trying to understand which set up will prove successful in the end. So some news is coming, because in the end we are still talking about tests.
