Ferrari does not give up and still hopes in a possible change. The red in fact, following the five-second penalty given to Carlos Sainz in the final of Australian Grand Prix, has announced that it will present appeal to change the choice made by the race directors.
Ferrari's move
Ferrari has chosen to appeal to article 14.1.1 of the Sporting Code which allows you to appeal if you have new elements, which were not available on Sunday, within 14 days of the conclusion of the race and the display of the classification. The Maranello team will therefore be called to present convincing elements that can allow the elimination of the penalty, which would bring Carlos Sainz back to fourth position.

Why believe it
If, initially, the sensations weren't exactly positive… in the last few hours there is a new vision on the accident which can be the extra weapon for Ferrari. As reported by Motorsport.com Italia, the extra element is called telemetry, from which one data in particular emerges: in curve 1, in fact, Fernando Alonso anticipates braking to avoid contact with Lewis Hamilton which was in second position. However, this action leads to blocking Gasly who, to avoid the rider of theAston Martin, is forced to go wide in the escape route. Sainz instead, which was inside, did not expect the crossing of Alonso's trajectory. Nando's goal was to try to have more traction on exit to try to flank Hamilton in turn 3. If Alonso had been a little wider there would be no contact. It is therefore right, on the basis of these data, that the FIA reconsider its decision considering the contact a racing accident.

Will it be enough?
It won't be easy for Ferrari which, however, we can guarantee will not give up and will try to bring decisive evidence to change the decision of the refereesBut will it be enough?
