A series of tasks await the new Ferrari team principal, Frederic Vasseur to his inauguration in Maranello which will take place immediately after the holidays, on 9 January. After the Binottian era, Ferrari decided to completely change course by opting for a managerial figure, and for a division of tasks that it has always adopted in the past. binottoExceptionally, born as a technical figure, he covered the double role, technical director and team principal, then controlling the divisions at the head of which he had placed several men including Enrico Cardile who passed from the figure of Project Manager of the vehicle and head of aerodynamics, to that of head of the chassis area; Enrico Gualtieri, head of the Power Unit department; David Sanchez as a reference in the aerodynamic sector and Enrico Racca as production manager.
From the official announcement until his inauguration, Vasseur will have already spoken with Vigna and Elkann, to establish a line to follow in the organization of the team. He will have to decide whether to continue on the path previously marked by Binotto, electing a Technical Director from among the figures available, or whether to focus on an external figure. What he couldn't affect will be there instead car 2023, for a matter of timing but also because it would make sense to make changes when the first problems arise, not before. For that we will have to wait and see what the track will tell us.
Cardile the possible candidate
According to what reported by Corriere dello Sport the missing place would go to Enrico Cardile who would be promoted to technical director, also under the command of Vasseur. So an experienced figure, who knows Ferrari well, having joined the team in 2005 on a growth path that saw him start with the design of the Gran Turismo 458 Italia GT2 and GT3 and 488 GTE and GT3 racing cars, models winners in the categories reserved for them. He arrived in Gestione Sportiva in 2016, then held various roles, and since 2021 he has been head of the chassis area. They shrink therefore, the possibilities of a return of Simone Resta, on loan to Haas, often presented in recent weeks as a possible candidate for the role of technical manager at Ferrari after the departure of Mattia Binotto, with whom he did not have good relations.
