The news was heavily in the air, but it has now become official. Even before Christmas, Ferrari found its team principal and general manager. Let's talk about Frederic Vasseur which will therefore officially take the place of the Mattia Binotto resigned.
Ferrari, here is Vasseur
There have been many names that have made themselves in the Ferrari house, but in the end that of the French engineer, now a former team principal of Alfa Romeo, he has always been the most insistent. The Maranello team itself announced the agreement with this communique.
“Maranello (Italy), December 13, 2022 – Ferrari NV (NYSE/EXM: RACE) (“Ferrari” or the “Company”) today announced that Fred Vasseur will join Scuderia Ferrari on January 9 as Team Principal and General Manager. Vasseur has over 25 years of successful motor racing experience, starting in junior formulas and the last decade in Formula 1. During this period, his success in nurturing talented drivers was also widely recognized, taking the series by storm GP2 both in 2005 (Nico Rosberg) and in 2006 (Lewis Hamilton). Vasseur most recently held the position of CEO and Team Principal of Sauber Motorsport (currently Alfa Romeo F1 Team), which he has assumed since 2017. Previously, in 2016, he was Team Principal of Renault F1 Team”.

“It is a great honor for me”
Of course they weren't lacking either Vasseur's words he stated.
“I am very happy and honored to take over the leadership of Scuderia Ferrari as Team Principal. For me, a lifelong motorsport enthusiast, Ferrari has always represented the pinnacle of the racing world. I look forward to working with Maranello's talented and passionate team to honor the history and legacy of the Scuderia and deliver results for our fans around the world."

To welcome Vasseur is the CEO of Rossa Benedetto Vigna.
“We are delighted to welcome Fred Vasseur to Ferrari as our Team Principal. Throughout his career he has successfully combined his technical strengths, thanks to his experience as an engineer, with a constant ability to stimulate the best in his drivers and teams. This approach and his leadership are what we need to grow Ferrari with renewed energy ”.

From January 9, therefore, there will be a new start at Ferrari which will hopefully see a team principal open a cycle that fans of red have been waiting to see for quite some time.
